Beta terms
Last updated [date]
These are the terms for using Perceive during the family beta. They're short, so please read them.
Who we are
Perceive is provided by [legal name], trading as Cloud Circus, London. Contact us at [contact email].
It's a beta
Perceive is free while we test it with a small number of families. It may change, have gaps, or stop working at times, and we may end the beta. If we do, we'll tell you in the app first.
What a “yes” means, and what it doesn't
A yes means the person you paired with confirmed on their own phone, using their face, fingerprint or screen lock.
It can't tell you whether someone is pressuring them, or whether another person has their unlocked phone. A “couldn't check” doesn't mean anything is wrong.
Perceive is one check, not the only one. If something still feels wrong, hang up and call them back on a number you already know.
Your part
- Only pair with people you know, in person.
- Keep your phone locked with Face ID, a fingerprint or a passcode.
- Only tap “Confirm it's me” when you're really the one talking to them.
- Don't use Perceive to pester people, or try to break or get around it.
Leaving
You can stop at any time: tap Remove me and we delete your information, as set out in our privacy notice. We may remove anyone who misuses Perceive.
Responsibility
[Limitation of liability wording]
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under UK law.
