Perceive lets people you've paired with check it's really you. To do that we keep very little, and nothing we don't need.

Who we are

Perceive is run by [legal name], trading as Cloud Circus, London. We decide how your information is used. You can reach us at [contact email].

What we don't keep

  • Your face or fingerprint. They never leave your phone; your phone only tells us “yes, it's them”.
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, messages or call details.
  • Your location.
  • IP addresses in our database. Our hosting provider's routine logs may hold them for [log retention period].

There are no ads and no tracking cookies, and nothing you do inside the app is measured. We use one cookie to keep you signed in on this phone. On our website's public pages (the home page, this notice and the beta terms) we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.

Our reasons for using it

We use this information to provide the service you asked for. We use the record of checks to keep Perceive safe from misuse, which is in everyone's legitimate interest.

Who helps us run it

  • Vercel hosts the app.
  • Supabase stores the information above.
  • CipherStash manages the keys that encrypt names and notification addresses.
  • Apple and Google deliver notifications to your phone. The content of each notification is encrypted on the way.
  • Stripe handles payments if you choose to support Perceive. You pay on Stripe's own page, so we never see your card details; Stripe tells us the amount and the email address you give it. Supporting Perceive is optional and has nothing to do with using the app.

They only use it to provide their service to us. Some of them may process information outside the UK; where they do, [safeguards and storage region].

We never sell or share your information with anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. The quickest way to delete everything is to tap Remove me in the app. For anything else, email [contact email].

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Perceive isn't meant for children under [minimum age].

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
